how can I tell if I have the intel chip or not? I've read that you have to flash differently if you have the intel chip. my serial number = CGNC1xxxxxxxx. I would like to install dd-wrt, but don't want to brick my good router. any help will be appreciated

[DD-WRT v24 RC3] The WRT54GS v7 is now fully supported (if its not an intel chip - see important note below), but requires again a special flashing way, which is easier this time compared to the v5 and v6 vxworks killer.

WARNING: There are at least two types of flash chips that are used on the v7 router. Using this method with an INTEL-type flash chip will brick your router. There is not currently a solution for using vxworkskiller with the intel-chip v7 routers.

I guess you will have to open the case and look.
Flash chip manufacturers are written on the chips themselves.

I will have to look but I thought within DD-WRT it listed the chipset.....

At least I think I saw mine listed there on one of the pages..
