I'm connected to the internet via a WRT54GS v5.1, with Firmware Version: v1.50.8, plugged directly into my NTL settop box.

Until recently my wireless network was working flawlessly but now it looks like the router has stopped broadcasting. The network not appearing in any list on any of my computers. I can still connect wired though ::frown:

Can anyone suggest a solution - other than getting another router?

    Thanks in advance.

You're leaving a lot of detail to the imagination :)

Since you have wired access have you fully checked all your settings and made sure they match? Try changing something and perhaps back. A repower sometimes wakes up a sleepy unit.

And make sure your client side is working. A quick walk outside should show a number of broadcasting units in the area.

Did you bother to logon to the router and check your wireless setup before posting your issue?

Did you secure the wireless network or router? If not, there are instances whereby a brotherly neighbour has connected to one's network and turn off the wireless for 2 purposes:

    1. To protect the user's network from being illegally accessed.
    2. To alert the user of the fact that this isn't a cordless phone - cannot just switch it on and let it be.

Already checked all the settings on the router and they're all normal. It's always been password protected (wep or whatever it is 128bit).

Everything ... set top box, router, pc's ... have been turned off and on several times.

I can pick up other networks on the laptops it's just that mine isn't listed.

I even downloaded that little prog off the linksys website that's supposed to setup a wireless network for you but althought it found the wired connection it couldn't setup the wireless. All it did was reset the router logon password back to admin.

I would then suggest doing a factory default reset and starting over. If you can't get wireless working after that (try simple non WAP first then improve from there) then a warranty is in order.
