I am having no luck trying to set the WRT54GX to be an access point not a router.

My internet gateway is configured a

I want the wrt54gx to get DHCP addresses from the main router and not set itself up as and serve out 192 addresses.

I've disabled NAT - made no difference.

I suspect that the answer is setting the wrt54gx as a static IP address (probably in the 10.10.10.x range) with a specific subnet mask - but - nothing I try there yields a good result.

With NET turned off - the static routing set to - wireless devices that attach to it still get a address not a 10.10.10.x address.

We can configure the WRT54gx as a accesspoint if we follow these steps..

    1) Connect the LAN port of the internet router to the LAN port of the WRT54gx router..
    2) disable the DHCP service( so that computers can get ip address from the main router)
    3) assign ip to the wrt54gx router in the range of the main router like 10.x.x.x

    it will work ..
