Hi all, I recently purchased a WRT54GX V2 router for use on my Telstra Bigpond Cable service in Sydney, Australia. Bigpond Cable use a 'heartbeat' which, if not responded to, causes the connection to drop. I have correctly inserted the heartbeat server into the setup after selecting Telstra Bigpond from the internet service 'drop down' menu. I get a connection...for about 20 - 30 minutes and then the connection stops even though the router still says it's connected. I suspect 'buggy' code which is not handling the heartbeat correctly but Linksys support (Philippines) have no way of testing to see if I'm right.
I would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help with this issue.
    Cheers....Reg :thumb:

I had this same problem with my WRT54GXv2 but only when I updated the firmware from 2.00.05 to 2.00.15. I had to RMA the unit because they (Linksys) wouldn't give me an older firmware to try. The reason I updated the firmware was because UPnP doesn't work. Are you able to use UPnP on your router with BigPond Cable? I am currently using 2.00.05 firmware on the replacement router and it is working fine.
