    Newb posting.
I have a Cat 5 wired house. Right now, I'm using the WRT54GX2 for the home network. I set it up using a laptop, and then disconnected it from the laptop to stand alone. Works like a champ, wirelessy

To allow for flexibility, I want to use this router to allow other, non-wireless, computers to access the internet through the ethernet adapters.

I connected a laptop directly to one of the LAN ports, and the connection was recognized and I connected at 100 mbps. I connected the cable from the router to the connection in the wall, and I went to another room and connected the same laptop to a a wall drop. The connection was recognized, it acquired a network address and connected. Unfortunately, it connected at 10 mbps and wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet.

I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but in surfing this forum and others, I've not seen the answer.

I hate wired networks. I've been wireless for 3 years, but I want to make this work.

Thanks in advance for the assist.
