after chatting with linksys customer service, they seem to be under the impression that their new wrt54gx400 is their most powerful device, and will interop with my exisiting wap54g's (1 ap, 1 bridge, and 1 repeater).

what do you think about this? having been a longtime linksys customer, i know that their folks in mexico and indis leave something to be desired.

p.s. if i implement this into my environment, and keep the ap / bridge due to distance, i wonder about the srx's usefulness / speed increase??

The SRX400 products are very compatible with existing client adapters and with them, you will get a 40% boost in terms of range and data rates. With SRX400 client adapters, you will get 1000% better range and data rates.

By just replacing the router (single ended solution), you may not even need the bridges and repeaters; replacing the client adapters too will definitely improve the experience.

Buying a product based on where the customer support is kind of goofy, since all the companies do the same thing. Don't be fooled.

    Re: SRX

have you actually used the product to verify those numbers?

i agree on the support thing, i was just pointing out that they don't have any insight into product direction i'm sure since they can barely answer basic questions on their products.
