Let me see if I can do this situation justice. Have a very functional wireless network running through the house, centered around a WRT54G router and a WAP54G access point serving as a repeater. In the process of adding the Linksys Media Extender to my entertainment center. Everything I've read recommended running that on 802.11a, so I've purchased a WRT55AG that I'd just like to add to the existing infrastructure (have disabled the 2.4ghz radio). Problem is, I can connect the WRT54G and the WRT55AG together to the extent where I can get internet through the WRT55AG, but I'm unable to access any of the computer resources attached to the WRT54G. I'm actually not able to ping anything cross-router.

Any ideas on what the problem is? The WRT55AG is a v1, I believe.

Assuming that you are using a cable to connect the two routers together make sure to use LAN ports at both ends. You'll also only want the DHCP server enabled on the gateway router. (The router connected to your modem.)

If that does't solve the problem we're going to need more info on how exactly you've connected the two routers.

    Good luck.
