The Rev. 2.2 has 32MB memory installed and is still using 16MB.

Is there an advantage of using more memory for a home-user LAN (1xPC 1xSipura VOIP)?

Is there a safe way (with software) to check this out and perhaps to set this to 32MB?
Last point: Perhaps independent from the used Firmware?

Yeah I'd like to know this too. More RAM=more TCP connections the router can handle at once. Getting that extra 16mb unlocked would be nice.

the only known way is with the v2.0 WRT54G with the XH board.

no one yet has ever been able to make the change to 32 with any other board version,

trying this on any other board will brick your router. you cannot just reflash it either to fix it. it needs a serail port to be soldered onto the board, then using JTAG reflash the router.

if you want 32mb then get yourself a WRT54GS

    the proceedure is shown here:

BUT as i say you cannot do it with a v2.2 router. unless you want a brick. :)

I believe most (if not all) of the WRT54G v2.2 have only 16MB RAM.
