We've had issues with several WRVs, but the latest firmware made them more stable. But the latest pair has me completely flummoxed.

Just set up a pair of WRV200, latest non-beta firmware. Both have failed in exactly the same way.

We've logged into them, change to static IPs, right time zone, correct DNS, etc. It goes to reboot, and doen't come back up.

The internet works through them, pinging them works, so the addressing is correct and the WRV is moving packets, but there's no way back into its control panel. It doesn't even come back with a usename and password prompt when going to merely says the page cannot be displayed. We've tried from numerous computers, we've even tried the hard reset in the back, and simply haven't been able to get back into the router itself.

Any solution or help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, in advance.

Maybe even HTTPS: but that is a strange one.

Do WRVs allow you to telnet into them? If so, perhaps try that. I'm thinking maybe your browsers are getting, from a proxy.pac or similar, a redirect to try and find 192.168.. on another proxy. Perhaps also try setting your browser(s) for "direct connection to the internet", i.e. don't try to find a proxy.

It's not a proxy, DHCP or alternate port thing. The WRV200s are working normally; traffic is being passed, folks can get onto the wireless network fine. The admin interface is simply not there. The pair of routers seem to switch between getting a connection refused on port 80, or asking for a username/password then dumping you to a blank page.

I was hoping to try to downgrade the firmware back to 1.0.29, but since I can't get into the admin interface (and the old-style Linksys TFTP client doesn't work on the WRV200), I'm kind of stuck here. Full-on hard resets (hold reset for 30 seconds, power-cycle) don't seem to work, either.

Appreciate any other help you folks can provide.

Disconnect "all" connections (i.e., pull out all of your CAT5 from all 4 lan ports to include the WAN) and pull the power cord out also for about 4 mins. After 4 mins, hold down the reset button and put the power back in. You should get your interface back; program your router with all of your settings before plugging your ethernet back in.

This has worked for me in the past, but every one of these wrv200 units have their own friggin' personalities... :)
