I just bought an Linksys wrv200, and i cant donwload anything anymore using either utorrent or bittornado.
Do i need to enable VPN for it, or open some ports and how?

    Many thanks,

Another question, I heard the WRV200 has problems with its VPN, but if i dont use VPN support at all, there is nothing wrong with this router?
And do i miss alot of features when i dont use VPN?

Enabling vpn won't cure your problem. That's a separate function altogether... :)

Were you using the wrv200 to download your torrents before "or" did you buy the wrv200 and try to download torrents but couldn't?

Ive allready swapped the wrv200 for the 3Com 3CRWER200-75.
The wrv200 was an bad router, it kept freezing, forcing me to power it off/on.

Ive tested this 3com with torrent downloading too. I was downloading an file of 4,7GB @ around 800kb/s.
Sometimes the download speed was going back to 200, and it was going up back to 800kb/s. In that time the download speed was going down, i couldnt send any messages over xfire or open an site. But the router didnt reboot, and i didnt disconnect from xfire, only got this message:
<High latency detected between you and the server. Your last few messages may not have been received.>
While downloading @800kb/sec, it was not pretty to surf the internet.

Now my question to you is, shall i go with this router?
Is the experience i posted, normal?
And do all routers have some torrent problems?

    Thanks for your input:)

Allthough, even after shutting down bit-tornado, my internet sometimes goes 'down', and cannot reach more then about 200kb/sec. I have to leave the router on and wait about half an hour then everythings normal (is that normal or?)
Seems like i have to go for another router, can you recommond me one for the price around 80 euro?

What is the speed of your internet connection? My first thought is if your routers can handle the connection speed, but that is a "rare" issue...

I've run torrents on my wrv200 and haven't experience any issues with the latest firmware set. What firmware were you using?

My internet speed is 1200kb/s down, and about 300 up. But normally i can reach only 800-900 with about 30kb up.
For the wrv200, i was using firmware 1.0.35 and since that didnt work, i also tried 1.0.36, but didnt fix it either.

The 3com at the moment is a pain in the ***. Most of the time i cant even use youtube normally and never exceeding 200kb/s. Ive tried directly via our ISP-modem, then i didnt have those problems.

What router do you recommend as an good one?
Is the Linksys WRT54GL an good option?
    And what about the WRT150N?

Try the wrt5rgl; you can flash it with 3rd party firmware such as tomato, dd-wrt or openwrt...

Ive allready ordered an Linksys WRT150N. Ive heard the WRT150 uses Linux as OS to, so it can be flashed to dd-wrt/openwrt to?
And is the WRT150N an good router to have?
