I keep getting the same line in my logs:
    DNS: trying forwarder xxx.xx.x.xxx

It is listing the second number in its DNS list. Does this mean that my primary DNS is a bit flaky - or is this normal?

If I could get rid of this message I would cut down the log files by 99% - making them much more useful... Anyone got any recommendations for cheap/simple Syslog software that I can throw on one of my PC's that will record these logs in a friendlier format? I have a SQL Server 2000 on my network - would it be easy to setup a table on it to capture the log entries?

What if you try swapping the order of the DNS servers on the router?

Wallwatcher is one of the better tools. Based on the WRV's extensive logging features, you get plenty of information return with wallwatcher.
