At home I have BuffaloTech 120G network server CAT 5 connected directly to the WRV54G. No issues at home, works fine.

When remote using my PC, I can connect (VPN). I have the network server mapped. I can see file names, but if I try to copy a file from my server to my PC (the whole reason for doing it) it hangs, and sometimes drops the connection. Also, sometimes even trying to drive down to the file names hangs.

    Any ideas?

Re-adjust your MTU on the router to either "manual/1350" or "auto/1350."

Default MTU on ethernet is 1492; your packets sound like they are too large. If you also want to adjust the MTU setting on your computer, you can download DrTCP and adjust the registry setting on the fly.

1350 ws the magic number for me:)

    Give that a try...
