WRVS4400N - Slow download/upload speeds; IPS issues.

Discussion in 'Cisco Small Business Routers and VPN Solutions' started by _.dstrukt.n1ne, Dec 30, 2008.

  1. Hi there!

I tried searching for my problem, but couldn't find any threads. I have FTTH with 20mbit upload and download. There is no modem, so all I have to do is plug my router directly into the ethernet jack and viola!

I have a few routers so I know this router is throttling my bandwidth. Instead of getting 20mbit up and down I only get 10mbit down and 4mbit up. I've disabled IPS but that makes the router inoperable. If I enable IPS, it works just fine, but then I have limited bandwidth, so it has nothing to do with my router not being able to obtain an IP.

It has DNS from ISP and all my computers have their IPs, but I can't view websites or ping. I swap out the router and everything works fine. This is the 2nd router I have and its hardware version 1.1. I'm currently using firmware 1.1.03 and I've seen other firmwares, but I am unsure which one I should get. On the linksys community forum, there's a custom firmware 1.1.07.C.7.

    Thank you!
