I'm using a new WTR54GS on an inaugural trip and have not have a stellar experience with it. I've been using it share a hotel hotspot for 2 other computers via 802.11b.

So far the WTR54GS works ok for about 15 mins then drops the wireless connection to the clients. The only way, at that point, to restart the wireless is to unplug the WTR54GS from power and plug it back into power. Also the router seems to run very hot.

Anyone have any similar (or dissimilar) experiences? Any thoughts?

First of all, upgrade the firmware to a V4.** linksys based firmware, such as the latest from Linksys or Thibor's HyperWRT. I'm using Thibor 151105 firmware to solve that problem.

If this doesn't solve the problem, you will need to exchange the unit.

Turn off the windows wireless zero configuration service. Install the linksys config tool. This solves the problem completely.
