I have an xp sp2 desktop with Norton network security connected via a wusb54g to a wrt54gsrx. On bootup, the wusb54g appears to get an IP address via dhcp but then the icon in the task tray vanishes an reappears after Norton starts up with an x on it. After a couple of seconds the x disappears and the adapter is trying to renew its IP address. If I check out the stats on the apdapter it shows an IP address of Then if I right click on it and tell windows to repair the connection all is well. This happens about 99% of the time when booting. After it is repaired it continues to work for as long as the computer is on.

Curious as towhat is going on here...

    Thanks for any help

Are you sure tha you are getting a valid Ip Address, at startup? If the driver for the WUSB54G starts up like the one for the WPC54GX, and you youse any type of encryption you do not get a address until the driver establishes connection to your WRT54GX, You may see the ICON for the Network connection, but doeds not have a address at that point, I would look at the system event log to see if the WUSB54G gets and loses its connection. The driver usually loads after the network connction is established and the driver not WZC handles the encryption setting.
