WUSB54G or WRT54G or WMP54G or GS??

We have a WRT54G v2 router with 2 hard wired computers and a wireless G laptop. We need a means to hook a desktop computer to the wireless internet. Sometimes it's a computer we are working on for a friend. We were planning to get a WUSB54G however we saw 2 user reviews saying they run very hot and several people complain about them dropping signal. From information we find on this site I think we could use a WRT54G if we could figure out how to set it up. I suppose we could get a WMP54G PCI card and install it and later take it out. What will work best? Will we notice any increase in speed if we go to GS on the router? We're surfing the web, downloading files from the web, sharing files, and printers. Remember we're old so talk in terms that we hopefully will be able to understand. Thanks in advance for your help.

probably wont notice any difference going to the GS unless your transferring files quite a bit or streaming over the network. I think the PCI cards are more reliable in my experiences with client cards. If its going to be changing frequently get the USB, if once a year or so go for the PCI, thats my vote.
