Toastman on Netgear WNR2000v2 - firmware too large

Hi all,

i have recently bought a Netgear WNR2000v2 router for my girlfriend. Last week I was playing with it a bit and installed TomatoUSB mini version. Today i wanted to try out Toastman's edition, as it seems provides some nice additional features. However when trying to flash in the Toastman mini version, i get an error message about the firmware being to large...

according to this post there should be at least 2 other Toastman versions suitable for a 4MB flash router and these guys also managed to flash the WNR2000 with Toastman.

So is there a safe way how to force the Toastman mini version into the WNR2000?

Thanks a lot

nvmnd, i found the answer here. apparently the max firmware size for the WNR2000v2 is 3473408 bytes, and the smallest toastman firmware i found exceeds this by 20 kbytes. the currently used Teddybear mini version seems pretty much on the limit of this router, so i will have to stick with it.

(Note to self: check router ram and rom sizes before buying one)
