Tomato Shibby's Releases

i wonder how quick these little r2 cpus do the sha1 checks required for bittorrent. can someone post speed results?

shibby20 do you plan to add an ip filter option? Maybe a setting to enable or disable ip filtering and also a way to update the ip filter file. looks good so far. havent had a chance to try it just yet though.

Do you mean a blocklist? GUI has to be simple, for newbie in particular. Advanced users can simply use a custom configuration and add options not included in GUI.

Ip filtering is utterly useless. It's a placebo for people who don't really understand how torrents work, or understand that any client can log, and hence is a waste of time.

I am curious how well the little cpu cope though. Not wonderfully I assume since the default peers are quite low (and upload slot proportionately high).

This was downloading Mint "Julia" but the router was still responsive. The download speed maxed out at 1.5MiB/s. I'm on a 20mb line so should max out at 2.5MB but I was writing to a flash memory card and not a hard disk drive so maybe that has an impact.

shibby20: The only issue I've found so far is that the web password keeps reseting itself to the default - it doesn't save my change. Apart from that :biggrin::biggrin:. Thanks!

witch browser do you use? If Firefox, please try IE.

cool, that's about what i would have estimated. thanks.

did your transmission source code is the latest 2.21?
they really did great things in this release when the router resets.
in 2.13 after reset the transmission checked all the torrents - it took allot for big torrents like hd movies -> 2.21 has this issue fixed.

37H2qos is running great. I have enabled automatic blocklist downloading/updating via a script, and it works very well. Seems I can disable less and less optware services everyday. Thanks.

Edit: The only thing missing is Toastman's QOS.........I like the labels. :)
Edit 2: Thanks Toastman for the new updates.

bkmo and others, don't despair if you keep changing from one firmware to another just to try, and the prospect of entering all of your config from scratch seems daunting. The method described here is very easy:

http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/showpost.php?p=362345&postcount=221

I just use the Tools/System command box to list the contents of NVRAM in this special format, and cut and paste it either directly into another router's system box or into a text file. You can copy your QOS rules etc. in seconds like this! After you've cherry picked the important bits out, don't forget to "nvram commit".

Many people will find they can regain a lot of NVRAM space by doing this occasionally.
